I am honoured and glad on encouraging all of you for attending the Fourth Ibero-American Congress on Pediatric Surgery to be held in Havana Convention Center, Cuba, from March 22 to March 26, 2010. The purpose of this Congress is to make possible that pediatric surgeons and other health professionals can meet as to consider and debate different important topics of children´s health, particularly the community aspects of the speciality, the beginning and development of minimal access surgery in children and very important subjects for improving survival and quality of life. We hope to have with us very well known Pediatric Surgeons from around the world, but not less important for us is to meet the big family that we are, so as to improve our knowledge about our regional problems, apart from other important contributions to be made by participants.
Main topics will be: 1- Endoscopic surgery. New techniques. 2- Neonatal surgery. Results and perspectives. 3- Pediatric Surgery in the community. Challenges and progress. 4- Surgery of cancer in children. 5- Urologic surgery in children. Updating on hypospadias. 6- Emergency surgery.
Friendship and natural hospitality of Cubans will allow all participants to feel themselves at home and have a very pleasant stay. The Organizing Committee will provide optional tours so that you may visit Havana City or other interesting places that you choose.
